Trying to get the boy to wake up after surgery wasn't easy. He was on the table for over 2 hours. They got the object out that was blocking his small intestine within the first 15 minutes, but the situation was way more complicated than we had
thought.
Some damage to his intestines from lack of blood flow, and other parts swollen, twisted and moved around.
The incision is so long because the doc had to take out his spleen to move it to the right place and that cut is the length of His spleen. Everything about him is big.
This took a lot out of big boy. I was finally sent away at 8pm and he had not stabilized yet. Hoping tomorrow will be a better day.
Doc says even if Reykjavik is good tomorrow, we won't be out of the woods for 3-4 days because of the possibility of blood clots.
I am going to go to sleep and dream of him running again on the beach. Please picture the same for me.
